Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Building
(This building [23-29 Washington Pl.], is located in Greenwich Village and was the site
of a tragic fire on March 25, 1911. Approximately 146 workers, primarily Jewish and
Italian immigrant seamstresses, were trapped in the upper floors of the building and
either jumped to their death or were burned to death.)
