Winter in the Valley It is in Viganella where the sun does not shine for 80 days, hiding in the Antrona Valley. Crocifissa says red is the color of winter here. Under il cielo every third new moon right before November 11 when the sun goes to sleep, the beasts writhe from their beds to strip from their white gowns. Ascolti! this place has become a vampire, the heart of the valley weeping for the sun, even the ghosts are meddling, they are banging into dusk hoping for the light.
