Ahimsa Timoteo Bodhrán

I have     drifted away     moved closer     through them     out
into a different orbit     farther and closer to their sun

My path     a comet     elliptical
always threatening     to burn away     and hurtle off     into space

This family-thing, it is my center.

Here in darkness     away from you     I grow
cold     form     freezing     shape

All is melted     upon return     vapors misting     effluvial
upon re-entry

you are just a link to something more precious
and eternal/substantial than what I am experiencing here
                                                                        and now. Othertimes,
you are the very thing that sustains me.
And I am left wondering

If we were not blood, what would we be?
