Driving on the Left

Here in Ireland’s West,
driving the little towns,
I say the K’s, Kilkee, Kilrush, Killaloe,
spell out the M’s, Milltown, Malbay,

Mutton’s Island. The L’s loll on my tongue,
Lahinch, Listowel, Lissycassey.
Best of all, the B’s,
Ballybunnion, Ballyduff, Ballyvaughn.

I’ll take any Bally, really.
I come to a roundabout and must figure out
which turn to take. I swear
I will never drive on the left again.

The road sign points to Doolin.
I’m on to the D’s.
